Photo No 290 - Sensational OT (Oct 16th)
I had another photo in back up but when this happened that got shelved. I am so very proud of my sister who was awarded the inaugural ‘Sensational OT’ award at her trust today at an event attended by Julia Scott from COT. I did have to do the whole, that was my sister, thing when talking to Julia later and may have had an emotional blub at the time. The award itself is very special because it is an Olympic/Paralympic Games Gamesmaker baton awarded to her Head OT who has just left the trust. How lovely of her to hand it on (pass the baton if you will) to make it into an annual award to celebrate sensational OT practice. To next year’s recipient I’m sure my sister will take very good care of it for you.

Photo No 75 - Sweet CMOP-E!! (Mar 15th)
Ever since my students told me about this sweet way to depict the CMOP-E model (passed down from third to first years) I have wanted to make these. It was the final teaching day of my unit today, so as a reward to the students (and myself) I used a flexi-syn day to represent this occupational model in chocolate and biscuit form (come on I couldn’t not try it myself, diet or no diet!) The CMOP-E stands for the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement. It guides OTs to consider a number of aspects when assessing and for planning interventions. In this form the Digestive biscuit base represents the environment (Physical, Institutional, Cultural and Social) and the Jaffa cake represents the Occupations of self-care, productivity and leisure. The Toblerone triangle is the person at the centre (and their Cognitive, Physical and Affective skills). We also need to consider their Spirituality as represented by the Smartie. These things all need to be considered so I glued them together with cupcake frosting and chocolate fudge decorating icing. Sweet!!!

Photo No 43 - Mirror Image (Feb 12th)
Took a few pictures of my new bathroom today but when looking through them spotted this amazing effect in the mirror so you’ve got a close up of that instead. Check out my main blog ‘kirstyes.co.uk’ later tonight for my Silent Sunday picture.
Photo No 26 - Monster Mash (Jan 26th)
Another of my favourite sessions. I get the students to make a paper monster and then conduct an activity analysis on it. Here is my effort from this year. A Kermitesque vampire who has been helped to develop the new hobby of playing OT Rules Rugby!

Photo No 24 - COT: Order of the Phoenix HQ (Jan 24th)
First visit to the refurbished COT headquarters today for the OT Admissions Tutor Forum (OTAF). Here is the Phoenix image from the front of the building. Enhanced with the 100 Cameras in one ‘the air crackled as the spell was cast’ filter and funky building and car reflections.
