Two thirds of the way through the challenge. Yay. Took this picture of a gorgeous black and white bouquet at a friend’s where we had a lovely evening involving a BBQ and lots of giggles. The title does kind of reflect some of the evening’s discussion but is actually the name of the filter I added from the 100 camera in 1 app. Love the mottled effect it gives. Thanks ladies and especially our wonderful hostess Karen.

A girly Valentine’s night with Chinese, laughs and good friends. The title of this post was what I said to them all as I was trying to take a picture.

As of Apr 5th 2013 I have changed the name of my tumblr blog to kirstyes - Photos and Words. The description below explains why I set it up as kirstyes' 366 Photo/Small Stone Challenge but because I achieved the challenge but still love tumblr it is time for a change.
2013 sees me attempting another challenge so daily (Mon-Sat) I fold and cut a page from my kirigami calendar and take a snap of the outcome. Sundays see me taking a picture of my happiness jar (my attempt to make a note of all the things that make me happy this year - to be reviewed on New Year's Eve).
But tumblr is more than that to me now and I reblog lots of different types of things, from books to hunks, pretty things to cute things, things that make me snort, words and phrases that speak to me.

Last January I took part in the 2011 River of Stones small stone challenge, and I have also been inspired by the 365 Photo Challenge I have seen people participating in on Facebook.
Because 2012 was a leap year I planned to take a photograph on my phone and to write a small stone (click on the image below for details) every day for 366 days starting 1st January 2012. Rather than use my existing blog (www.kirstyes.co.uk) I decided to set up this tumblr. account instead.
Some days the photo and my small stone be connected but this may not always be the case.
This blog is my effort to be mindful in 2012 and pay attention to what is going on around me. I hope some of you will join in too.
